 FAQs

  • I do not accept insurance directly but can provide you with the documentation you need to receive reimbursement from your insurance company.

Many insurance plans provide partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services.

Please contact your insurance company directly to determine your out-of-network coverage for outpatient psychotherapy.

  • You may cancel up to 48 business hours in advance of your scheduled appointment.

If you do not provide 48 business hours’ notice or do not arrive at your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full fee of your session.

  • My fees for individual psychotherapy are $160 per session.

Rates for family and couples therapy are $225/session.

I do offer a sliding fee scale on a case-by-case basis.

  • I continue to offer teletherapy only, as I find it to be a convenient, time-saving option for busy people.

  • I am a social justice-oriented, inclusive therapist who welcomes clients of all ethnic, religious, and cultural heritage as well as people of diverse sexual orientation and gender experiences.

  • When starting therapy, treat your first appointment as a consultation. It is an opportunity to meet with and talk to the therapist to ensure you will be a good fit for each other. Your therapist will ask what brings you to therapy, what challenges you hope to address, and determine what results you want.

Be sure to ask any questions you have. Going to treatment for the first time makes many people nervous, so do your best to stick to it and go to a few sessions before changing therapists or giving up altogether.

A good therapist will listen to you without judgment, help identify your goals, and find healthy ways to work toward them.

Remember, most people need more than a few sessions to receive the full benefit of therapy. It is common to see a therapist for several months at a time or even years if it helps you feel better in your day-to-day.
